Our Views Deserve Better!

Grizzly Peak offers the best views in the Bay. It's also the only public space that doesn't provide trash cans, litter cleanups, or other big-kid solutions. As a result, the mountain is covered in garbage and graffiti, routinely lit on fire, and features a sketchy skulls-on-plates vibe.

I started the Pandas in 2023 to transform this natural wonder into a clean and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy. While we've had solid success with temporary cans and cleanups, without strong government support the site quickly reverts to an open dump.

Like untaxed billionaires, Grizzly Peak is a missed opportunity. The mountain offers the best views in the Bay, yet everyone treats it as an annoyance rather than an asset. Imagine this:

It's a warm summer evening. You're enjoying an Arizmendi pizza with the fam on a clean, well-landscaped terrace in one of Grizzly Peak's new pullout parks. The site feels safe and inclusive, so your kids play freely while your elders bask in the panoramic sunset's golden glow. Silence falls as the sun slips beyond the Farallones and the stars shine out over the Bay.

Grizzly Peak's owner has $7 billion in the bank, and the nation's leading wildland park agency is right across the road. With a little vision and courage, we could transform this cultural and environmental asset into a clean and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy!
